Robert “Skip” Jarvis Jr. was elected Third Judicial Circuit State Attorney, according to Florida Secretary of State, Division of Elections records.
This record is unofficial until Friday because all seven supervisors of elections must certify results before they are official.
Jarvis scored 17,593 votes, records showed.
That count may not include absentee or provisional ballots, according to a parenthetical statement of the Division of Elections Web site.
Jarvis took approximately 42.5 percent of the vote.
Todd Hingson netted 14,723 votes, according to the Division of Elections with the qualifier that the tally may not include absentee or provisional ballots.
This is approximately 35.6 percent of the vote.
Alex Prins brought in 9,098 votes, or approximately 22 percent of the total.
Although Jarvis did not score more than 50 percent, there is no runoff in this race, according to Division of Elections spokeswoman Jennifer Davis.
Under the circumstances, only a judge’s race would need to be decided in a runoff.
