The 2024 edition of the Parade of Homes will feature eight homes across two counties.

The premier new-home building showcase in North Florida returns this weekend with eight homes on display Saturday and Sunday in Columbia and Suwannee counties. The Parade of Homes, co-produced by the Lake City Reporter and the Columbia County Builders’ Association, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The tours are free and open to the public.

Lake City Title is the event’s Platinum Sponsor.

That opportunity to see curious and interested members of the community is one of the draws to taking part in the seventh annual event, according to Mark Bauer or Gibraltar Contracting.

“It’s just a great opportunity to meet folks,” Bauer said. “Have the community come out and take a look at what’s new in the building industry, shake some hands.”

Bauer, a member of the Builders’ Association, will be showcasing one home on the Parade in the Country Lake at Woodborough neighborhood at 641 Country Lake Drive.

The 3,757-square-foot custom-built home will with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths will catch people’s attention, Bauer said.

“They did a really good job of picking out the colors and making selections,” Bauer added about the homeowners. “I think it just really showcases the craftsmanship that goes into our houses.”

Other builders taking part in this year’s event are IC Construction with two homes — 1316 SW Mandiba Drive in The Oaks of Lake City, and 323 NW Old Mill Road — Bryan Zecher Homes at 423 NW Country Lake Drive in the Country Lake at Woodborough neighborhood, DWC Contracting with a home at 189 SW Beacon Way in the Cannon Creek Airpark community, GSMS Developers with two homes in the Eagle Pointe subdivision in Live Oak at 10185 98th Pass and 10141 96th Place as well as Altman Construction with a home at 10174 96th Place, also in the Eagle Pointe subdivision.

“The excitement is building this week and the builders are making their final finishing touches to their homes, getting ready for the visitors this weekend,” said Lake City Reporter Publisher Todd Wilson. “These homes will showcase beautiful craftsmanship completed by local builders. They will be on hand to answer questions and showcase their work so come out and congratulate them.”

Silver Sponsors for the Parade include First Federal Bank, IC Construction, Trent Giebeig Construction and Tri-County Tree Service.

“The Parade of Homes is a great event every year and we’re excited to be the title sponsor once again,” said Rob Stewart, Lake City Title owner. “This is a great event that showcases all the new home construction going on in our community. We’re glad to support it.”
