BASEBALL

— Lafayette 3, Taylor County 2: Hyatt Richardson and Bryson Herron threw a combined no-hitter, but the Hornets (3-0) had to hold on to beat the Bulldogs (0-3) at home. Richardson allowed an unearned run in five innings where he walked four and struck out 12, while Herron allowed an earned run in the seventh inning despite walking three batters while striking out one. Garrett Taylor recorded two RBIs on a 2-for-3 night and Noah Lamb had another for LHS.

— Aucilla Christian 10, Branford 0: The Buccaneers (0-2) were held to two hits and got run-ruled by the Warriors (2-0) in five innings at home. Austin Humphries allowed six runs — two earned — on a hit and five walks in the first 1/2 innings before being pulled and later charged with the loss.

SOFTBALL

— Branford 5, Chiefland 0: Ellie Frierson hit a solo home run as part of a 2-for-3 night, Madyson Sikes recorded two RBIs, and Ashlee Combee and Morgan Brennan each drove in a run to lead the Buccaneers (3-0) past the Indians (0-3) at home. Laila Arnold was stellar again in the circle as well, throwing a two-hitter while striking out nine and walking just two.

— Suwannee 11, Bradford 1: Gracie Watley bounced back from a rough outing the night prior to throw a 3-hitter, striking out eight and walking just one to help the Bulldogs (1-2) run-rule the Tornadoes (0-2) in five innings at home for their first win. Maylee Gabey led the offense with three RBIs on a 2-for-4 night, while Haley Law drove in 2 runs on a 2-for-3 day. Felicity May, Braylyn Federico, and Kayla Freeman added RBIs for SHS.

 Santa Fe 6, Lafayette 1: The Hornets (2-1) dropped their first game of the season, falling to the Raiders (2-1) on the road.
