Fort White dropped its finale at the Oakleaf’s Tournament of Champions on Saturday, losing to Class 2A defending state champion University Christian 5-1.

Kadence Compton surrendered five earned runs in the first inning, which was all the Christians (7-2) needed to pick up the win. UC finished with six hits and two walks off Compton, who struck out seven.

The Indians (7-2) managed five hits, four of which came off the bat of Graceanne Durrance (2 for 3) and Gracie Clemons (2 for 4). Durrance scored the lone run for FWHS.
